To guide the implementation of youth strategies for New Lambton FC Juniors and to raise awareness of youth issues.
New Lambton FC Juniors Youth Council
We are currently in the process of setting up a New Lambton FC Juniors Youth Council to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for youths and allies across the Club to connect and build a sense of belonging and community. It will be an effective platform to contribute to a positive Club environment. Anyone at the Club who meets the membership criteria and considers themselves an advocate for youth engagement is welcome to join the Youth Council. Please contact a member of the Club Committee if you would like to find out more or to join the Youth Council.
Objectives
The objective of the Youth Council is to seek to engage young people in our Club and to provide advice to the committee regarding youth issues in New Lambton FC Juniors.
Authorities
- In carrying out its responsibilities, the Youth Council must at all times recognise that primary responsibility for management of the Club rests with the elected committee
- The Youth Council has no executive powers and cannot make decisions on behalf of the committee
- Neither the Youth Council nor any of its Members may direct any Club member in his or her duties
Responsibilities
- Engage young people in New Lambton FC Juniors, and in football more broadly
- Raise awareness of youth issues
- Assist the Club to prepare applications for youth related grants
- Guide implementation of the Club’s Strategic Plan
- Support the Club in a manner that is consistent with our organisational values and decisions of the committee
Membership
The Youth Council’s membership comprises:
- No more than 2 Club committee members
- No more than 3 other Club members between 18 and 25 years old
- Up to 15 other Club members, no older than 17 years old
- A maximum of 20 members in total
